Stories Fae the Howe School Visits

Linked to the Stories Fae the Howe Project we invited local schools to attend workshops at the Museum.  These included a storytelling/literacy theme as well as an exploration of some of the Museum’s rooms and artifacts.  Nine Donside schools (over 300 pupils) participated.

After their visit to the Heritage Museum some of the school were very keen to develop their link to the project.  For example, one class learned about illustration and then drew images for The Woman Who Flummoxed the Faeries.  Another class worked with a visiting specialist to create a backdrop and characters to ‘act out’ Jock and the Monks.  Yet another created the giant puppets used to retell the Silly Jack story.

We are looking to make this kind of schools programming a regular event at the Museum.
