We are offering a new service to local schools and community groups. Our volunteers have gathered items together from our extensive collection to create MEMORY or REMINISCENCE BOXES. These can be borrowed from the museum and used by your class or group to look at, and handle objects from the past. From bags to bottles; from curlers to churns; from razors to rolling tobacco we have something for everyone. Take advantage of this offer to encourage discussion, educate the younger generation about days gone by, or just let your group enjoy some of the things we used to use in daily life.
We currently have boxes available for loan on the following topics:
Domestic Life
Wartime
Farming
Dairy
Schooldays
We would welcome suggestions from you for other topics of interest.
